28TH ANNUAL SKUNK SHOW SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2016
Hosted by Florida Skunk Rescue and Florida Skunks As Pets
Hi. It’s almost that time of year again and we would like to invite you to the Annual Skunk Show hosted this year by Florida Skunk Rescue and Florida Skunks as Pets. The show is being held at the same location as last year, Ramada Gateway Hotel, 7470 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (A.K.A. Highway 192), Kissimmee FL. It’s a beautiful hotel and a great place to stay. The Manager and staff are very accommodating. If you’d like to come and stay overnight at the Ramada, mention the skunk show and you’ll get a rate of $60 for their tower rooms or $45 for their economy rooms. Rates are good for 5 days before and after the show. Just call group reservations at 407-396-4400 between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, 7 days a week.
NOTE: Even if you find a rate for the Ramada on another site cheaper, it would be appreciated if you would make the reservation directly with the hotel at our rate. This is the only way we get credit for the reservations so we can hold the show in the show hall and have a hospitality suite. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
Your skunks can stay in your room with you. This year there is a $25 pet deposit which will be refunded provided you have cleaned up after your pets.
The show is Saturday only with skunk registration check in starting at 10:00 am and the actual show at 12:00 pm once everyone is checked in. Due to computerizing our judging program, all skunks must be pre-registered by October 10th or a $10 late fee will be charged. If you’d like to enter a skunk the cost is $15 for your first skunk and $10 for each additional (maximum charge $50 provided all skunks are owned by same owner). To register your skunk, contact Lisa or Keith Cober or call (386-756-6385 or 386-290-9558). If you’d rather just visit to see what it’s all about, the cost to attend the show is $3.00 per person. Never been to a skunk show? It’s a fun time for all and a good place to swap skunk stories and get answers to your skunk questions. There will be raffles, and vendors selling skunk products and other items. To enter the show hall and to be entered in the show, all skunks over 6 months old must be spayed or neutered (unless they are too small to do so safely – please contact us if you’re unsure). Please no other types of animals unless it’s a service animal or an animal that has been cleared with the show team.
All proceeds go to Florida Skunk Rescue, a network of skunk owners dedicated to fostering and finding homes for domestic skunks when their owner can no longer care for them. For any additional information contact Brenda Hoch or call 727-809-0975.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the show. Who knows, your skunk could be this year’s Grand National Champion!
